Difficulties and conflict in couples




Couple problems are the result of the interaction of the problems of both partners, whether heterosexual or homosexual.

When a couple comes to therapy they often find one person who is very angry, demanding and accusing and another who is closed in on himself, distant "far away" from the relationship. Other possibilities are two people who are both furious and constantly attacking each other. Or two people who are both closed in on themselves and distant. In any situation people find themselves unable to communicate in a healthy way their difficulties and needs to their partner without assuming an attitude that is experienced as critical or accusatory.
